This cozy cabin, just mins from the historic town of Owego, is nestled between the trees and tucked alongside the secluded Susquehanna River. Almost every room in the cabin offers a lovely view of the river, but for a better perspective guests can settle in on the outdoor patio and take in the sights and sounds of nature. The patio includes a picnic table, chairs, and firepit. The high-vaulted wood ceilings offer an authentic cabin feel on the inside and will have you feeling as one w/ nature This spacious lot, set off by its lonesome, is the perfect getaway for those looking for peace and quiet. The only sounds you'll hear are those echoing off the river bank, unless you choose to take a short drive into the historic town of Owego (Budget Travel Magazine's "Coolest Small Town in the USA") for some shopping and antiquing. Owego also offers some neat bars and dining options. The Susquehanna River is set right in the backyard and you can bring your own water toys and venture in at your own risk. River access is permitted. The inside of the cabin offers authentic cabin vibes with its high-vaulted ceiling and plenty of pockets of natural light peaking through the many windows adorning each room. The neat and tidy outdoor patio, with comfortable furniture and surrounding woodsy scenery, is a serene setting for your morning coffee. Once inside, you’ll find it hard to leave the living room – which blends rural and natural with cozy & comfortable. The patio, meanwhile, comes equipped with a propane grill and dining picnic table, and makes for an excellent setting for an outdoor meal. The cozy couch, lavish dining area, and convenient amenities are the perfect niceties for your secluded woodland getaway…but the brand-new Smart TVs are available in the living room and master bedroom if you need them (: The kitchen is decked out with essential appliances (fridge/freezer, stove, oven, coffee machine) and has all the basics covered – and then some. The ivy-covered wall in the living room offers a unique backdrop for some selfies, too. Perhaps, after dinner, you may want to test out the high-quality telescope in the bedroom. On most nights, you can catch a shooting star or two. The outdoor entertainment area is adorned with deck lights and strung lighting, and makes for the perfect setting to share some laughs with the family, or an intimate moment with a partner. At the end of the night, you’ll settle into one of the two bedrooms, which both feature a large queen bed (and comfy mattress), as well as large window panels that allow oodles of natural light to shine through if desired. There are multiple dressers and closets which offer extensive space for storage. The unit is air conditioned and has heat control settings in each room. It accommodates parking for 3 cars and comes with free WiFi. There are pots and pans, dishes, glasses and utensils, paper towels, and a garbage bag or two in the kitchen. Towels, linens, soap, shampoo, and conditioner along with rolls of toilet paper are provided. Please bring any other necessary personal items with you. There is a smart Firestick TV.

February 2026 1.00Host was not returning any answers to my questions. Told my husband i do not feel good about this one. And sure enough 23 hrs before check in i get a message that our reservation has been cancelled. Now where are 4 people and 3 dogs gonna stay. Contacted another VRBO and she tried to upcharge use 400 because we were desperate. I get 10 days vacation a yr off from work and wasted 2 on this weekend that never happened. Thabks for nothing.

October 2025 3.00Clean, but many basics were missing- No door to the bedroom, no door handle on the bathroom, undrinkable water, wifi did not work, TV broken, etc - Definitely needs some TLC. However, the location is safe and covenient to Owego with cute stores and restaurants.

September 2025 3.00We had trouble with both tvs. One we couldn't find the remote, couldn't get it to work. The other died while we were watching it. The manager is not quick to respond or get back to us.

July 2025 3.00The interior was neat, clean and spacious. The kitchen was nice with all kitchen needs available. The Nest was listed as having AC, but no picture of the unit. I wanted AC. Upon arrival, there was one small window AC unit which was not as expected. The firepit view of the river was a selling point and the view was blocked by overgrowth about 8 feet tall. Not at all what was presented by the owner. The grass had not been cut in over two weeks. A message was sent to me that the grass would be cut, 5 days later still no grass cut. The Nest is not what is portrayed in the pictures. No response from owner when a message was sent on the day I departed. Nothing since either.

June 2025 3.00The deck and proximity to the river and park are perfect. Fireflies at night, but also a lot of road noise from across the river. There are holes in almost all the screens so by the 2nd night of sleeping with the windows open, we had insects inside. The house set up was open and carpets are new. The kitchen could use more supplies like a colander and baking dish. We left a new, larger frying pan. I appreciated the aloe and basil plants. Wish the bedsheets were cotton instead of synthetic sheets that are hot in the summer time. Overall, we had a great stay but with some inconvenience.
